The Dead Rabbit × The Parlor Menu

The Parlor upstairs at The Dead Rabbit is one of those places where everything’s considered, so the menu had to live up to that. Usually it changes every six months, but this time the idea was to make something people would actually hold onto.
So we treated it more like a book than a menu. Hardback, weighty, foil-blocked on deep burgundy, wrapped in a waxy stock that feels good in your hands. Something you don’t just flick through and forget.
The structure is simple. Ten sections, each pairing a classic cocktail with something new - a “tomorrow” version built from experimentation.
The illustration does a lot of the storytelling. Two styles running side by side - loose, etched linework against bold marker tones - a way of showing that mix of past and future. Ingredients orbit each drink, giving you a sense of what’s coming before you even order it.
It’s detailed, but not overdone. Everything has a reason to be there.
And that was the aim. Something that feels like it belongs in the space, not just sits on the table.
Funny, when we first talked about it, we said if it was good enough people would steal it. First weekend they “lost” over half the books… job done.
